The European Commission published on Monday, December 20, the Single Market Scoreboard - 2021 edition. It provides a detailed overview of how EU single market rules were applied in the European Economic Area (EEA) in 2020. The scoreboard assesses Member States' performance in terms of market opening, governance tools, and certain policy areas, based on selected indicators, including the administrative cooperation between Member States through the Internal Market Information System (IMI System) - the Professional Qualifications module.
At the level of the Ministry of Education, the IMI Module is coordinated by the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) in relation to the competent authorities for regulated professions in Romania, universities and school inspectorates and contributes to the insertion of Romanian graduates in the EU labor market, by facilitating the professional recognition of their diplomas and certificates.
The 2021 edition of the country report, which presents the results of IMI performance indicators, shows:
„Performance - Romania improved on its excellent performance.
All 5 indicators were above the EEA average.
Despite the high incoming volume, 4 indicators further improved compared to the previous year.
Romania had the 3rd best result for requests accepted within 1 week."
The graphs below show the evolution of the IMI performance indicators over the last 3 (three) years, in the context of the increase in the volume of information requests managed:
